The updated Ayton village website is organised by Ayton Community Council and went ‘live’ in early 2014.
Back in 2007 The Community Council was aware that the village lacked a shop window to the world, so it was decided that a community website should be established to help promote the village. The initial website was set up with help from Shand Online Solutions, a company with local connections, as a community project, run by Community Councillors, with the aim that it would become self-sustaining. By 2014 the software we were using (Microsoft FrontPage 2003) was not supported so the decision was made to redevelop the website using WordPress. This was done with the assistance of NE1 Webdesign (now not operating).
We welcome feedback on the site’s design and and content.
Please do let us know if there is anything you think should be listed and we will endeavour to include it on the website. Also, we need to know about any errors.
If office bearers or contacts change, please let us know as soon as possible so we can update our pages. A key objective is to ensure that local businesses can make potential customers aware of all that they have to offer. We will list any local business free of charge and will link to any website businesses website – all we ask is that you do likewise for our website.
